Michael Knox is most noted for his production work with ACM Artist of the Decade Jason Aldean, Knox has a staggering 29 #1 hits that has helped fuel country music's explosive growth over the last two decades! Topping the Billboard HOT 100 in 2023 with his production work on Jason Aldean’s Top selling Song of the Year “Try that in a Small Town” and the 2022 ACM Collaboration of the Year with Aldean and Carrie Underwood’s #1 platinum hit “If I Didn’t Love You” and the 2012 CMA Album of the Year Award for Jason Aldean's "My Kinda Party" concrete’s his ability to continuously discover and produce great music. Knox has many production credits to his name including Thomas Rhett (“It Goes Like This”) Trace Adkins (Grammy Nominated “Just Fishin’”), Kelly Clarkson (collaboration w/Aldean on “Don’t You Wanna Stay” 2012 ACM Single Record of the Year and 2012 ACM Vocal Event of the Year), Ludacris (collaboration w/Aldean on “Dirt Road Anthem”), Luke Bryan & Eric Church (collaboration w/Aldean on “The Only Way I Know” 2013 ACM Vocal Event of the Year) Montgomery Gentry, Randy Owen, Josh Thompson, Hank Williams Jr., The Cast of the ABC TV Hit series Nashville, Tim Montana, Michael Ray, Riley Green and more.
Knox topped Billboard’s Top Country Producers chart for the first-time in 2021 (his 13th year earning the Top 10 Country Producers honors) and was also honored with being apart of the Billboard’s Country Power Players in 2020 and 2021. Additionally Knox also sold over 60-Million singles and 30-Million albums as a producer worldwide.
In 2018, Michael Knox and Donny Walker created the syndicated radio show Knox Country 360. Knox serves as both co-host (w/ Shalacy Griffin) and producer for the show. They were nominated for the NATIONAL WEEKLY ON-AIR PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR at the 57th & 58th ACM Awards.
Another major accomplishment for Knox was the launch of Music Knox Records with BMG. His first signing is country/rock sensation Tim Montana.
Knox also serves as President for peermusic publishing Group in Nashville. In 2013 they enjoyed the ASCAP Song of the Year “How Country Feels” (Randy Houser) and in 2016 the SESAC Country Song of the Year “Somewhere on a Beach.” Under the creative leadership of Knox, peermusic has built itself into one of Nashville’s top Publishing Companies.
Knox comes by his love for music honestly — he is the son of Buddy Knox who is well known for his hit “Party Doll” 1957. He was the first artist in the Rock n' Roll era to write and sing his own #1 song.
