\"614115c4618072798ae16104a3f05df9\"On Feb. 19, 2013, rising country singer Rachel Farley chatted via telephone with Digital Journal about her new single “Ain’t Easy” and her future plans in music.

She has been spotlighted by Country Music Television (CMT) in their “Next Women of Country” special and she has been dubbed as the “female version of Jason Aldean.” “That is such an honor and it’s really cool. I am honored to be in that group of women,” Rachel stated.

“‘Ain’t Easy’ is my new single and I am really excited about it,” she said. “I wrote it a couple of years ago and I knew it was going to be the first single and I had to finish it. Luckily, everybody else has been on the same page and I am excited to get it out to everybody.”

A 17-year-old Georgia native, Rachel is signed to Red Bow Records, which is also home to fellow country singer Joe Nichols. “That is really cool. I’ve been a huge fan of his and I have always loved his voice,” she acknowledged. “I love the new label and I am ecstatic to be with that awesome team of people.”

She noted that she was inspired by such musical acts as the Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride, Joan Jett, Pink, as well as Rob Thomas. “I am such a lover of music. I listened to everything growing up,” Rachel said.

Rachel has opened shows for such country mega-stars as Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean on their “My Kinda Party Tour” last year.

Rachel listed Brantley Gilbert as the male country artist that she would love to someday sing a duet with. “Brantley and I already have a friendship and it would be a lot of fun to sing together. He is such a great songwriter and I love writing with him,” she remarked.

She revealed that her forthcoming studio album is organic and raw and noted that it should be out in the summer. “I am excited for people to hear it,” she said. “This is a very personal project and it has a lot of music on there.”
