Closing out our series on the creative community, this week we survey top record producers for their thoughts on Country radio and its influence on their work. “I grew up in Nashville and, every morning on the way to school, my dad listened to Gerry House,” says Nathan Chapman, whose credits include Taylor Swift, The Band Perry and Shania Twain.
Michael Knox (Jason Aldean, Montgomery Gentry, Rachel Farley) also grew up in the Nashville area. “I love radio,” he says. “I used to watch Ralph Emery in the mornings and listen to radio on the way to school. Country, usually, or Top 40 if my cousin was driving. I grew up in Ashland City, and we only got two stations out there.”

Read more →Jason Aldean’s fifth album, Night Train, has been certified platinum four weeks after its Oct. 16 release. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and doubled the first week sales of his previous album, My Kinda Party.
Aldean will join a lineup that includes Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Pitbull and Psy to ring in the New Year with a three-song performance on Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2013. The special airs Monday, Dec. 31 beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
The recently announced 2013 Night Train Tour will begin Feb. 21 in Bossier City, La. and will include at least four sold-out stadium shows, including Boston’s Fenway Park, Chicago’s Wrigley Field and the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium. Special guests Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett will open.

The collection features new music performed by the cast including Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen, and Sam Palladio. A full track listing for the album is below.
Producers T Bone Burnett, Dann Huff, and Michael Knox have collaborated to assemble the music featured in the show and soundtrack. Download sales of songs from the series have already exceeded 500,000 and the first official single, Panettiere’s “Telescope,” is quickly climbing the charts.
